Show Us Your Life-Foyers
Hi everyone! I hope you're enjoying your summer so far. I must admit though, I can't wait for autumn to get here. It's my favorite time of year and a few of my favorite blogs have showcased their homes decorated for the season. With this heat, it seems so far off...so we'll just have to keep on enjoying our summer until then.
This week, I'm joining up with Kelly again as she is spotlighting the foyer. Our foyer is very long as you can see from the picture.
I would love to put a pair of tall candlesticks by the door, but it gets super windy here at a moments notice. You wouldn't believe all the things that have broken just from the wind.
Here's a closeup of a table I got from HomeGoods. I love that store! It's really heavy and has that Tuscan look to it. I would love to put a lamp in here. We have high ceilings with recessed lighting and I think the glow of a lamp would really warm up the space. The only problem is that the cord will show. Any suggestions? Have a great weekend and try to stay cool.

Dani I love it! Where did you get those sconces? I want some just like that for my mediterranean mirror near my foyer :)
ReplyDeleteLove your foyer!!!!! There are so many ways to hide a cord. We have really strong winds here at times too. I put a lamp on my table in the foyer. I bought some small command hooks by 3M and stuck them to the back of the table. (top) Then I laid the cord on those hooks behind the table. Then I put a really cute basket from Pottery Bard next to the outlet. The stuff I put in it depends on the season. I hope this makes sense and I hope it helps!
ReplyDeleteMelissa...I have those same sconces. I bought mine at Kirklands. :)
ReplyDeleteBe still my heart, a Tuscan foyer. *smile* Love the sconces, arrangement and picture. Well done! =) xo ~Liz
ReplyDeleteVery pretty foyer. I love the floral arrangement and the gold frames. Everything looks so pulled together! Very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI'm stopping by for a visit from Kelly's Korner today.
ReplyDeleteYou have a wonderful entryway. Home Goods seems to be one of the popular decorating stores amongst the blogging community. I still haven't been to one yet.
I really enjoyed my visit to your blog.
First off, thank you for visiting my blog & for your sweet comments. I truly appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteNow, about those cords! I have this obsession with cords showing & sometimes it is totally unavoidable. What I've started doing is making cord covers, usually in a neutral color fabric (because our wall color is a very neutral beige) that I just slip onto the cord. I usually have mine gathered some, but they really do kind of disappear against the wall. I mean, you can see them, but they blend, look nicer & much more like they serve a purpose other than looking ugly. I have one on the lamp that I have in my entry -- the old sewing machine with the gathered cover. Maybe this will help!

it looks so beautiful and inviting. I'd love to see what you do with the lamp situation.
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath on the door. What I can see of it, that is :)
ReplyDeleteAs you can tell, I'm slowly catching up on my SUYL reading :)
